1 Reviews of the Hemsby 6
By: Jgwynne Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2010 Rating:
I love this tent and it is massive. I camp with my 3 children and usually go with a friend and her children as both our husbands are busy working during the summer holidays.
It is quite hard to put up initially, especially as it is so tall and we are both about 5'4', however I have got the hang(ish) if doing it now.
There is plenty of space inside, especially necessary if it pours with rain - I sleep in one of the bedrooms with my youngest and the two older children each have one for themselves so all their belongings are in with them.
I especially love the extra compartment at the side which we use for our Kampa loo! Being on my own I much prefer this to leaving the children on their own if I need a pee at night!
We have recently camped in North Wales and during a very windy night with no sleep I had to collapse the porch on my own which was very difficult. I would definitely keep more of an eye on weather forecasts in the future and perhaps even collapse this every night. The wind was so bad that 2 of the loops on the bottom of the front door used to hold the front of the tent to the ground have broken and the supporting pole which runs along one side, the full length of the tent has bent. When the weather is ok we will put the tent up and I will look at fixing the loops and my husband assures me he can straighten the pole. I have asked Kampa for advise on fixing the loops but they just directed me to this site to see if I could find other peoples comments. After that night I did say I was never camping again, but I have changed my mind again. I will be investing in better, longer pegs than those that came with the tent. I will probably buy more guy ropes especially for the area where the pole bent. My eldest woke up at about 5.30 that morning and went to sleep at a friends caravan. The other two slept through what has to be one of the most stressful nights I have ever had!
I would definitely recommend this tent, although I see it has now been discontinued. Although the weather was awful and we spent the day in my friends caravan, when the weather had died down we went back to it and it was still standing!

Manufacturer's Description
Spacious and full of features, the Hemsby 6 can provide very comfortable accommodation for up to 6 people. The tent is compact to transport, thanks to its Dynaflex ‘as strong as steel’ poles that despite their small packed size can easily support this large tent. These poles combine the finest fibreglass that is sheathed in a strong, but flexible, PE sheath to create a pole that is as strong as steel. The Hemsby is easy for a couple of people to erect and in no time you’ll be enjoying all the benefits this tent has to offer.
The flexible sleeping accommodation is split across two spacious bedrooms, a four and two berth. The four berth inner can further be divided by using the fully zipped dividing wall. The width of this tent gives an even larger living area than usual and is complemented by the ensuite toilet or storage area. The large panoramic windows and the daylight panel allow plenty of natural light in. Outside, the tent has a built in canopy and a side door featuring a full height fly screen and a roll away front door panel.
